Technology

Dear 4th Graders and Families,

Technology will play a significant role in how we learn this year. In order to use the software and tools in our classroom, you will need parental permission. We need permission because we often have to use your full name and student ID number to register you for the programs. The following programs have been researched for their safety and we have been given permission by the district to use these programs in the classroom. Please click on the links below to view the websites and their privacy policies. Then return the permission slip that your child brings home. I recommend that you create a parent log in for Edmodo in order to stay informed about your child's posts, work, and assignments.

Please note that we hold our students to strict technology guidelines in the classroom. Students who choose not to follow those guidelines will lose their technology privileges and be subject to further disciplinary actions as determined by the district technology form signed during registration.

Thanks for your support!

Reflex Math - An online program that allows kids to practice their math facts in a closed game like environment.

Edmodo- A free and secure learning network for teachers and students. It allows teachers and students to share learning, assess learning, and extend learning outside the classroom. It is also how we communicate with students about assignments and provide materials for them to use. In addition, students will use apps within Edmodo to practice math and reading skills.

Kidblog- A free site where students will be able to publish their writing in a public space. Students will use their first names only. They will be able to receive and leave feedback from friends, family, and students from other schools who have our classroom link.
