Classroom Snacks

Dear Families,

As a fourth grader you can count on burning lots of energy as you discover the treasure of learning. A healthy breakfast will set your brain up for learning, but you might find yourself getting hungry before lunchtime. Our snack time will be right after Math each morning.

Seven years ago I developed food allergies. While some of my allergies have gotten better, I am still unable to eat or be around nuts, oranges, or soy. In order to keep our classroom allergen free, we ask that you only bring in snacks from our approved list. You are welcome to eat any foods you like at lunch. After lunch, all students wash their hands to help prevent cross-contamination of allergens and germs in our classroom.

There are many healthy snacks you can choose to bring from home. Please leave all potato chips, cookies, or other sweet treats for your lunch. Also, please remember that students are not permitted to bring in home baked goods per district policy.

If there is something you would like to have for snack and you don’t see it on the list, just ask me! Many students show me the snack label if they aren't sure about a snack choice. Thanks for your assistance in this matter! Please email me if you have any questions.
